Have You Time for Tea?

Chatting over a cup of tea is a great way to get to know someone and the residents in care homes have so much to chat about.

Many residents have some degree of dementia, but that doesn’t stop them reminiscing and sharing their life.

If you have time for tea, please get in touch! We will arrange to meet you for a very informal interview to get to know you a bit, tell you more about our visiting and answer your questions.

A’ taster’ visit will be arranged. We will discuss what team will be most suitable.

If you decide to join us, we will ask you to get a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) as you will be visiting vulnerable adults.

We will also ask you to become a Dementia Friend by attending, online or in person, a Dementia Friends information session. This is because, as mentioned above, many residents have some degree of dementia. These sessions really help us to see each person with dementia as an individual.

We also ask our visitors to come to a session we run to familiarise you with our essential policies: Safeguarding; Health and Safety; Equality and Diversity. We then refresh the messages of the Dementia Friends session and discuss them in the context of care home visiting.

We ask that you visit with a team once a month for usually about an hour and a half. More frequent is certainly possible if you wish it.

As well as the AGM, we usually have a social evening once a yar to give you the opportunity to meet the other teams.
